While there are several species of this frog, most of them live in tiny territories in South Africa (both the country and region) in the thin strips of land between the sand dune deserts and the sea. They are nocturnal creatures, sucking up the moisture from the fog that rolls in at night. Then, they use their weird little feet to bury themselves during the hot, dry day.
