Our final pin of this series features Pluto, Charon and several other smaller bodies that form the disk-shaped cloud of rocky, icy objects beyond Neptune's orbit called the Kuiper Belt. If you're ever sad about Pluto being "demoted" just remember it actually has a LOT of friends.
Pluto and Charon are considered to be a binary planet system because their center of mass lies between the two bodies. They also share a mutual orbital period of 6.4 days. Which means that the same face of Pluto is always oriented toward Charon, and the same face of Charon is always oriented toward Pluto. The system has four other moons known as Styx, Nix, Kerberos and Hydra.
