Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. Its so big that you could fit 1,300 planets the size of the Earth inside it's storm-filled boundaries. You might not have thought about it, but we benefit greatly from Jupiter being located where it is. As the most massive object in the outer solar system (which means it's located outside the Asteroid Belt), it attracts many wayward asteroids it's direction, keeping them out of to the interior system where we live.
Jupiter's most famous feature is it's Great Red Spot, which isn't a landmass but rather a massive storm that has been raging across the planet's for hundreds of years. We live in a unique time however, because the Great Red Spot will not be around forever. It's been fading over time and could potentially be gone in a few decades. Which means that of all the times to be alive in all of existence, you were around during the same time as the solar system's largest storm.
