Mars is a fascinating planet. And currently the only planet we know to be entirely populated by robots! Granted, those our our robots. But its because of our fascination and desire to learn more about our celestial neighbor that we have sent multiple rovers and satellites to explore it.
The famously red planet is about half the size of Earth, but is also home to some of the solar systems most impressive geological features. Olympus Mons is the tallest mountain in the solar system, standing around 16 miles high, making it about 3 times taller than Mount Everest. And the great Mariner Valley is so long that it would stretch across the entire United States if it was here on Earth.
The fourth planet from the sun is also last of the inner rocky planets. Beyond Mars lies the rocky ring of our system's asteroid belt and all those leftover bits from the formation of the solar system that never quite became planets themselves.
