This strange and lovely little creature is known as the Cyerce Nigricrans. This shell-less little sea slug lives in the Pacific and Indian oceans and sustains themselves off a diet of algae fluid. Their unusual, brightly colored leaf-like bits are called cerata and, as their colouring might suggest, they are not very tasty. They also fall off pretty easily so their predators just get an icky snack and not the rest of their squishy bits.
It's cousin, the Cyerce Elegans also have these petal-like cerata, and come in a variety of colors but with more of a more translucent, ethereal vibe.
