It's wild to think that the moon seems so close. It's right there. We can see it! But do you know that it takes about three days, traveling at over 3000 miles an hour, just to get there?! The entire United States isn't even 3000 miles across! That's real far, real fast. Humans are incredible creatures.
The first lunar landing was on July 20th, 1969. A total of twelve people across six missions have set foot on the moon. We haven't been back since 1972 at the end of the Apollo missions, but I'm so pleased with whoever names the programs at NASA, because the next program that plans to take us back to the moon? The Artemis.
